10 Minute Solution (Wii)

At list price of $20.00, 10 Minute Solution is clearly not trying to compete with either EA Active  or Wii Fit series, but does it deserve a place in your library as a supplement?

10 Minute Solution is another exercise game that tries to take advantage of a tie in with another well known product.  The DVD series is generally well regarded.   10 Minute Solution for the Wii consist of variations on two exercises: Step Aerobics and Cardio Boxing.  The Mixed Games section is just a combination of the former two dressed up to look like you are playing a different game.  While having balance board feedback is nice, it seemed to have difficulty picking up some moves such as squats.  Graphics and sound are simple, but not completely unacceptable for a Wii title.   The biggest problem is that even at $20, there just isn’t much content.  Everything done by 10 Minute Solution is done better by other titles, and there is more content in them.  Gold’s Gym Cardio Workout is in the same price range, does a better job with Cardio Boxing and has more other exercises to boot.

Reviewer's Opinion

Graphics:

Mediocre for a Wii game, but still in the realm of acceptable for an exercise game.

Sound:

Simply average.

Gameplay:

Solid, but not compelling.

Controls:

Balance board integration is nice.   100% working balance board integration would have been better.

Originality:

None.  Other’s before have done everything before and done a better job.

Overall Single Player:

The content exists is done reasonably well.

Reviewer’s Opinion:

While what content there is to be found is not exceptionally good or bad, even at the value retail price of $20 there is far too little content to recommend.
